First HQ Models

My first Tyranid HQ unit - in fact, the first Tyranids I bought after the Macragge set - were a box with three Tyranid Warriors. I think the models are amazing, and just wish it was possible to field them in anything resembling a beardy configuration. As it is, they're fragile and tends to draw a lot of fire...

First Brood

For my very first brood I wanted some ranged firepower - with only Genestealers and Termagants, that was sorely lacking in my army at that point... So, the natural choice was Venom Cannon and Deathspitters, adding Scything Talons just bcause they looked good. In hindsight, a Rending Claw is probably a better investment, but at the time I only had one set of claws, and the Talons looks much better anyway.

Close Combat Warriors

Expensive and fragile, but if they advance in cover of (say) a wall of carnifexen and get a charge in before they get shot to pieces, then they do pack a formidable punch.
