2006-11-26

• On the Palatinate of Narn, negotiations between between Count Rhadamant and the Tau "Visitors" break down.  The planetary Triad Council declares a state of War against the Alien Invaders, and calls for help from Adeptus Terra, and any nearby forces of the Adeptus Astartes.  The commanding Tau Ethereal declares that the Greater Good dictates that the Colony in New Oklahoma join the Tau Empire, and invites the rest of the Palatinate to join too.
• A deep space monitor satellite in the Tanith System is attacked and destroyed; Its last transmissions showed several large, incoming vessels of unknown origin.  The energy emission signature is consistent with a Tyranid Hivefleet...  The Tanith space defense immediately sends out an all-sector distress psicast.
  
• A fishing vessel in Port Meridian on Hofir lands a strange artifact. It is constructed of a hard, black material - a miniature version of the Black Monument in South Valdor. It is immediately confiscated by a representative of the Adeptus Terra, and impounded for further study.  The artifact is, in fact, a control mechanism for the Black Monument - which in turn is a device dating from before the fall of the Eldar, designed by Necrontyr to disrupt the interface between the Warp and the material world.  If activated, even briefly, it would destroy all Webways within hundreds of lightyears.  Of course, noone except perhaps the C'Tan would know how to activate it, but its mere existence is a threat to the Exodite worlds in the volume, as well as to the Ulthwé Craftworld that happens to be near.  Fortunately, an Eldar adventurer got wind of the discovery, and recognized it for what it was.  It is imperative that the device is found and secured before the Mon'keigh Adeptus Technologicus starts to poke at it randomly!

2006-11-27

• Lightening raid from Tau forces captures the provincial capital in Viridian Vale. The Mayor declares "I always wanted to work for the Greater Good, and in the Tau Empire I can do just that".

2006-11-29

• The regional government in Central Meridian sends out an all-planet alert - Alien raiders are looting the town!  There is no indication of where they came from , the orbital monitors report all-clear, but nevertheless the streets are full of heavily-armed alien troops. Adeptus Arbites offered token resistance, but was quickly overwhelmed.   So far, the attacks seem concentrated on government buildings in Port Meridian.  The Hive Governor in Veldt reported sightings of Aliens in the Veldt uplands, before transmissions were silenced.
• The Tau Explorer class starship Dal'yth Gal'leath A'less M'yen in orbit around the Palatinate of Narn starts powering up dormant weapon systems and prepares to intercept any enemy fleet. The Tau commander wovs to "protect the now and future Citizens of the Tau Empire".  Unfortunately, sudden storms on the northen continent delays the embarcation of the battleforce.  It will be several days before the weather calms.

• Eldar forces on Hofir finds and secures the Necron artifact.  The eldar force commander decides to remain on the ground on Hofir a little while longer, to make sure that nothing else shows up.

Game night - 6 acceleration command points distributed.

• The Tau embarks, and make a run for orbit, storm or no storm.  Through skillful piloting, the Air Caste pilots navigate the turbulent skies, and the Tau battleforce takes up shielding positions orbiting the Palatinate of Narn.
• The first Space Marine relief force arrives - the Fists of Wrath Strike Cruiser From the Shadows break from Warp in Hiruscant system, almost on top of Hofir, and immediately begins an orbital assault.  However, the surprising and unfortunate arrival of an Eldar cruiser-class vessel insystem prompted the Marine commander to belay the assault until the naval threat was neutralized.
• On Moloch, reports from the Karnak Ridge wastelands talk of "killer creatures" attacking the water pipeline maintenance crews.  The Governor in Hive Cherebh  dismisses the report as "the paranoid ravings of foolish Menosians".
  
• The Eldar ship in Hiruscant withdrew when approached, and the Fists resumed their orbital assault after a few days delay.  They landed in the outskirts of Port Meridian, and immediately launched an assault on the Eldar forces.
• The Sword of Ultwhé soundly defeat the Fists of Wrath, who retreat to orbit to regroup and establish a cordon.

2006-12-02

• A massive wave of Tyranids - from towering Bio-Titans to carpets of Gaunts and Rippers - assault Hive Menos on Moloch.  The defense collapses like a house of cards, and the population is either devoured by the ravening hordes, or driven into the ash wastes, an almost certain death too.  The death toll is in the millions, and planet-wide panic erupts.  The local Imperial Guard is swamped by the task of keeping the population in check, and is powerless to mount a counterattack.
• The Ultramarines arrive in Ammon System, and attempts an immediate landing at the site of the Tyranid invasion. Remnants of the Hive fleet in orbit disrupts the operation, and the Marine task force is forced to spend valuable time clearing the Moloch orbit.

2006-12-04

• Farseer Elthran, in mediation on the paths of the future, is frustrated by a cloud covering the pathways, some years hence.  Walking methodically back towards to present, he is surprised to find that the confusion is rooted in the mind of one Human being. This person will lead his people in war, but for which side?  Sometimes, he rouses a rebellion against Alien usurpers, sometimes he leads the Gue'Vesa of the Tau Empire into a bright new future.  To clear the fogs of the farseers future visions, this person must be decided - or eliminated.  Walking further back towards the present, Elthrans scrying reveals that he leaves the traveling monks in Glacier Edge, only one week from now, traveling into the cloud of different possibilities.
  

• The Ultramarines makes a controlled landing in Karnak Ridge on Moloch, and immediately begins burning away the Tyranid infestation.
• On the Palatinate, the Tau mobilizes additional forces in New Oklahoma.
  

2006-12-05

• Eldar forces appear from nowhere in the Glacier Edge region, also overrunning the once-peaceful Downs.
• The Ultramarines on Moloch makes a full-scale assault on the Tyranids still swarming over the husk of Hive Menos. In this battle, there can be no truce, and no retreat.
  
• Signal Intercept in Tanith system.

2006-12-06

• Tau forces on the Palatinate of Narn descends on the Eldar in Glacier Edge, assaulting both from orbit and from the ground.  The invading Eldar had established a fortified base of operations while locating their mysterious quarry, and this bunker complex becomes the first target for the Tau offensive.

2006-12-07

• The Eldar find and capture an individual monk among the many Glacier Edge pilgrims - but as soon as their quarry is found, the Tau strikes, intent on foiling whatever it is the Eldar are up to.  The assault goes badly, however, and the  Dal'yth Kau'Ui Kayuon are forced to retreat to New Oklahoma with a bloodied nose.
• Tau strategic planning pays off, and the reserve force Dal'yth Kunas'Mal'caor Kauyon assault in Glacier Edge and manages to drive off the Eldar, who retreat to The Downs. The Eldar prisoner escapes in the ensuing confusion.  Successful Tau reconnaisance discovers a mysterious gate-like artifact that seems very important to the Eldar...
• On Moloch, the Ultramarines' assault on Hive Menos falters even before it reach the Hive core - the ruins of one of the gatehouse installations saw a meeting battle, typical for the engagement, where the approaching Marines where pounced by a large Tyranid force - mostly Genestealers led by a Brood Lord - and turned back.  The Ultramarines retreat to Karnak Ridge, their landing site, to regroup and repair.
• The Fists of Wrath orbiting Hofir makes a second assault on Port Meridian, but find the Eldar camps deserted when they land.  They do locate the Webway portal that the Eldar arrived through, however, and puts it under heavy guard.

2006-12-08

• The Sword of Ulthwé rallies, and return in force to Glacier Edge, where they assault the team of Earth caste scientists that the Tau has tasked with investigating the Eldar Gate.

• The Tyranid infestation on Moloch spreads unchecked into Venk Plain, cutting off the high-speed trains that connects the northern and sourthern hemispehere.

• After regrouping, the Ultramarines march back into Hive Menos, once more trying to dislodge the Tyranid Swarms that infest the ruins.  This time, they will attack with caution.  This time, they have a plan...

2006-12-11

• The Eldar webway portal in Glacier Edge was inadvertently left in an unstable state when the Tau assault forced the Sword of the Ulthwé to retreat. It is imperative that the Eldar gain control of the portal for long enough to secure and key the portal, lest its secrets falls into the hands of the Mon'Keigh or the Upstarts.
  

2006-12-14

• The Ultramarines discover a poorly defended section of the Hive Menos perimeter, and secure a bridgehead. Immediately, the forward Marine positions reports incoming sensor blips - a Tyranid counter-assault is imminent!
• On Hofir, the Fists of Wrath investigators concludes their examinations of the Eldar Webway Portal new Port Meridian, and shuts it down permanently.  The resulting plume of slightly radioactive smoke is visible all the way to Petrarch.  Afterwards, they scour the countryside around Veldt for any remnant Eldar, and declare it safe for civilian business.

• The Sword of Ulthwé descends upon the Tau holding their Webway Portal in Glacier Edge, but the surprise midnight attack turned into a bloody mutual slaughter.  Unsure of their chances, both forces fell back under the cover of darkness.

2006-12-18

• The Fists of Wrath formally hands over military command of Port Meridian to the Hofir Home Guard, and lifts off to take station in orbit over the planet.  The Marine commander is still anxious that Hofir might again be a target for the many aliens attacking the sector, and stay in orbit to augment the local forces.
• The Council of Seers on Ulthwé Craftworld still believes that the Necron artifact, the Black Monument, on Hofir is a danger to the Craftworld, but with the latest incursion on Hofir itself, the planetary defenses are on high alert.  The Council calls for a diversionary attack on the resource mining operations on Halsem, to draw off the Hofir space defenses and give a spaceborne Eldar strike force time to land on Hofir itself.
  

• The Tau command is convinced that the mysterious portal is important for the Eldar, and moves a battleforce to Glacier Edge to guard it.
• The Sword of Ulthwé, en route to Hofir to carry out the diversionary attack called for on Halsem, moves to Glacier Edge in order to use the portal there.  Much to their surprise they stumble on a large Tau force in the process of digging in around the ancient structure.
  

2006-12-21

• Reports from Adeptus Biologicus Techmagi attached to the Ultramarines relief force, the Tyranids in the Hive seems to be evolving at a furious rate, in response to the enemies the broods encounters.  Some Warrior subspecies seems to be gaining speed, while other variants seem to be growing thinner carapaces.
• The Tyranid counterassault, led by several Carnifexes supported by Zoanthropes, crashes on the forward Ultramarine command post on the Plaza of the Emperors Peace in Hive Menos. The defenders are overwhelmed by the ferocity of the attack, and, surrendering the indefensible positions,  the Ultramarines regroup to Karnak Ridge.
• In Glacier Edge, the Tau turn back the Eldar forces zooming for the Webway portal.

2006-12-22

• The Tau Dal'yth Kau'Ui Kauyon lifts off from New Oklahoma, intending to bring the relentless progress of the Greater Good to the humans on the moon Leo Albus.  Once again, bad weather over the northern continent delays operations, and the Tau commander is forced to delay the expedition and regroup in Narn Orbit.

2006-12-25

• While the tau force in Narn orbit is regrouping, another company of Ultramarines arrive in the Hiruscant sector, in Tanith Deep Space - they are informed by their battlebrothers on Moloch that the Tyranid infestation there is being brought under control, and turn their attention to the other aliens running wild in the sector.  The heart of the alien influence is clearly New Oklahoma, and in true Marine style they strike swiftly, attempting an immediate decapitation.  The presence of a fully battle-ready Tau fleet in orbit comes as something of a surprise, so the two fleets collide in low Narn Orbit over the northen continent in a very confused battle.
• The Eldar Farseer senses the reappearance of the pivotal Mon'keigh that eluded his grasp in Glacier Edge - he fled, along with many other refugees from the Tau occupation, to the southern continent, and is now (or will soon be) in a camp just outside Eacus.

2006-12-26

• No sooner are the two fleets committed to a close-fought battle, when long range sensors report further incoming movement.  Both sides fear that the opposition is about to receive reinforcements, and both sides are unpleasantly surprised by the sudden hail of Tyranid meiotic spores raining down towards the planet. The hailstorm includes several Bio-vessels providing cover for the assault pods, and a three-way battle is joined in Narn Orbit.
  

2006-12-28

• Farseer Eldrad senses a disturbance in the web of paths, as the strand connecting the Ulthwé Craftworld to the world of Narn is suddenly severed.  In Glacier Edge, Tau scientists report that they figured out how to deactivate the portal; With a few more years of study they might be able to reactivate it...
  
• The Eldar forces camped out in The Downs are preparing to move out for Rhadamant (the Falcons are loaded, and the Farseer is waiting impatiently while the Banshees put on a proper traveling makeup), when suddenly the orderly departure is interrupted by a Tau raid.
• High above the Palatinate, in Tanith Deep Space, the Fists of Wrath 1st chapter (Guards of Honour) broadcasts their arrival in response to the distress beacon, and requests directions from local Imperial High Command.  Several conflicting appeals from help are returned from various disorganized human groups on the surface.  Looks like the Marine Commander is on his own here...

• Long range scanners shows more incoming Tyranids in Tanith Deep Space.

2007-01-01

• The Council of Seers on Ulthwé Craftworld are adamant that the Sword battleforce needs to provide a suitable diversion in order to let another strikeforce reach Hofir and the Black Monolith.  The Council decrees that liberating the dissidents on Moloch, in the New Siberia labor camp, will provide enough of an impetus for the Empire that the forces defending Hofir will be redeployed.
• The Tyranids on Moloch are still evolving - latest reports of attacks by assault carnifex indicates that they are growing slightly faster.

• More mutations in the Genestealer population on Moloch observed.

• Ultramarines Strike Cruiser Spirit of Macragge defeats the Tau Gal'leath A'less M'yen in Palatinate of Narn orbit, sending it retreating towards the outer system.
  
• Fists of Wrath 2nd Company strike boldly from Deep Space, moving to New Oklahoma, engaging the Tau forces defending the heart of their colony.
  
• In Palatinate of Narn orbit, the Tyranid Vanguard fleet Eclipse overwhelms the Space Marine Cruiser and succeeds in landing on the planet, in Viridian Vale.
  
• The Tau Gal'leath returns to Palatinate of Narn orbit, attempting to shield the planet from more unwanted alien attention.
• Ultramarines NEF launches its Space Marine company towards the planet using Thunderhawks and Drop pods; Losses are negligble, and the marines successfully land in Glacier Edge, cutting off the internal supply lines and retreat routes of the Tau Dal'yth Kunas'Mal'caor Kauyon fighting in the Downs
• The Sword of the Ulthwé defending in The Downs defeats the attacking Tau in a pitched battle; The Kunas'Mal'caor Kauyon is scattered, and the survivors are either hunted down by the Eldar or killed by the native humans in the downs; Apparently, while very short, they are all crack shots...

2007-01-05

• The Ultramarines move toward New Oklahoma, intent on cutting off the Tau retreat routes from the beleagured colony - or, alternatively, to form a startegic reserve if their Brother Marines in the Fists of Wrath falter in their appointed task: To cleanse the Palatinate of Alien Scum.
• In space, a second wave of Tyranid vanguard ships fall upon the Tau Gal'leath protecting the planet in Palatinate of Narn orbit.
• And on the ground, the Tyranid infestation is spreading, reaching now into Excelsior Field.  Human refugees from the northern continent panics and set off in improvised ships towards the still human-held southern continents.

2007-01-08

• Farseer Eldrad still believes that the key to the future of the Hiruscant subsector is the individual mon'keigh that eluded his grasp in Glacier Edge, and in defiance of the Craftworld Seer Council he declares the refugee camps around Eacus to be his priority target.
• The Tau evacuate the civilian population from New Oklahoma; The fire warriors of Dal'yth Aloh'Yanoi Kauyon prepares to give their lives to defend the evacuees from attacking Space Marines.

• The Sword of Ulthwé battleforce pack up and move out, launching an diversionary assault on the Imperial Guard in Rhadamant while attempting to reach the harbour to commandeer transport vessels that can ferry their heavier equipment across the ocean to the southern continent.  The Guard, scattered and confused, falls back in panic and evacuate - almost emptying the port of seaworthy vessels.
• The Eldar finds only a few suitable ships moored in the port, and when they start loading them in preparation of their crossing to Eacus, boobytraps placed on board by Mon'keigh rebels explode and sinks the vessels.  Losses are light, and mostly in materiél, but the Sword needs to find alternative transportation if it is to cross the great Equatorial Ocean.
  

2007-01-10

• The Tau command in New Oklahoma is packing up and preparing to leave - all portable resources are packaged and loaded, and all resarch files are copied, transmitted on fast droneships to T'au, and destroyed locally.  Evacuation of the civilian personnel continues, but is now hampered by the conflict in orbit - Tyranid vanguard vessels destroy several of the refugee transports enroute to orbit.
• On the Palatinate of Narn, the Tyranid that landed are evolving rapidly.
  

2007-01-11

• The battle for the Tau colony in New Oklahoma turns into a bloody war of attrition, with fighting from habitat to habitat. The Fire caste warriors fight to the last Tau to buy time for the last evacuation transports to get off-planet, and the Fists of Wrath fight with their habitual determination and resolve to cleanse a world of all Alien taint.  In the end, the two forces are both broken, and as the last surviving remnants of the defending Tau board their Manta gunships and take off, the Ultramarines (better late than never) take over the job of securing the area from the Fists of Wrath, who return to their base for some much needed repair and recuperation.
• In Palatinate of Narn orbit, the Tau evacuation fleet (who just wants to get the civilians to safety) and the Tyranid Battleforce Umbra (who just want to get planetside and feed) clashes in a series of drawn-out skirmishes.  In one such engagement, a Tyranid boarding torpedo disgorges its living payload in a Tau S'nail ship.  When the boarding Genestealers find and destroy the vessels drive controls, vanguard droneships are easily able to outmaneuver it and deliver their cargo of meiotic spores high over the planet.
• The evacuee Tau fleet regroup in Tanith deep space, rendez-vouzing with a second Gal'leath class vessel bringing new colonists and supplies to what they believed was a flourishing colony.  The evacuation fleet commander Shas'O Dal'yth Mont'yr'Anuk (formerly known as Shas'O Dal'yth Yr'Anuk) takes command of the combined Tau forces, and plot his next move.
• The Fists of Wrath Strike Cruiser Pietas Ira, carrying the 3rd Company to battle, emerge from the warp in Tanith Deep Space, just in time to learn the fate of the 1st Company at the hand of the invidious Tau.  The Marine Commander vows vengeance, and heads for the planet.
  
• In New Oklahoma, the Ultramarine cleanup sweep is in full progress, chasing down holdout Tau in the hills around the (now very war-scarred) colony habitats, when suddenly the sky darkens with Tyranid organisms making planetfall.  The Ultramarines dig in and grimly prepare to defend their positions.
  

2007-01-13

• Farseer Ulthran manages to scrounge up enough ocean-worthy vessels to make a crossing to Eacus feasible, and loads up the entire Eldar Host.  Invading the beaches both east and west of Eacus, the fast-moving Eldar soon encircle the hive. The inner walled city is  isolated, with the outlying areas firmly under Eldar control.  The Eldar troops proceed to scour the refugee camps in search of their farseers elusive target.
• The Count Eacus, exasperated by the inaction of the Grand Army, attempts to replace the Grand Army's High Command.  A few hours after the declaration, the Duke is found dead, having accidentally fallen from a high window in the Palace.  His son and heir, and his household forces, are outraged by the apparent treachery by the Army, and soon open fighting is breaking out between the two forces.  When the Grand Army makes a tactical withdrawal into Eldar-held areas, the fight becomes three-sided.  After only a few days of fighting, the Count Eacus surprises everyone by having a stock of Plasma Barrage missiles, which he fire indiscriminately into the suburbs.  The civilian casualties among the plebeians are horrible, but the attack serves its purpose - both the Eldar and the Grand Army forces retreat with great haste to beyond missile range - the Grand Army to the last remaining Palatinate capitol Minos, and the Sword host back to Rhadamant. The refugee camps are badly hit by the post-holocaust firestorms, and to the Farseer Ulthran, the fate of the mysterious human is again lost in the mists covering the branching paths of the future.

• The scattered refugees, first from the alien invasion, then from the Eacus insurrection, flee the planet on the first ships out of Altos.  One of them, carrying the mysterious human the Seer Ulthran so desperately seeks, is the ore hauler Behemoth Bess bound for Moloch.  It will land in Port Lucent there, within the week.
  

2007-01-16

• More Imperial reinforcements arrive in Tanith Deep Space, this time another company of Ultramarines.
  

2007-01-18

• The Eldar returns in force to Eacus; The insurgent Count Eacus offers only token resistance, having apparently run out of secret Megaweapons.  The search for the Seer's elusive target in the burned-out refugee camps proves fruitless.
• A Company of Space marines from the Fists of Wrath make a combat drop into the middle of the city of Eacus, but the Eldar are well dug in and the Space marine force fails to get a foothold.  The resultant rapid retreat by thunderhawks turn into a bloody rout as their fleeing spacecraft are intercepted and largely destroyed by Mantas and Barracudas from the Dal'yth Kau'Ui Kauyon which had simultaneously swept into low Palatinate of Narn orbit.
• The Dal'yth Suam'T'Gue'la Kauyon launches an invasion of the moon Leo Albus, capturing the Vacuum tunnel that connects the northen and southern settlements. The underground city Planitia falls quickly to the invading Tau, but the Imperial Guard in Mycenae is still holding out.
  

2007-01-20

• The Ultramarines make a measured approach to the invaded moon of the Palatinate of Narn, taking position in Leo Albus Orbit.  Calls for Tau surrender are met with measured disagreement, accompanied by a few ground-to-orbit missiles.
• The Tyranid rolls forward over the northern continent, laying waste to the City of Rhadamant.  After the monsters pass, nothing is left alive except for Rippers collecting biomass.
• The Refugees in Eacus, as well as the Eldar expeditionary force making its way towards the sourthern spaceport, are shocked and horrified to learn that the Tyranid are also aquatic - suddenly, the coastline and all the rivers and streams that flow from the jungle into the ocean are teeming with alien and extremely hostile lifeforms.  To his dismay, the farseer Ulthran realizes that he and his host will have to fight their way to the spaceport if they are to leave this benighted planet alive.

• Fists of Wrath 4th Company, under the leadership of Inquisitor Gorstar, make a careful approach towards the planet, assaulting rather than bypassing the Tau force in Palatinate of Narn Orbit.

• The Fists of Wrath Battle Barge The Emperors Fist easily pushes aside the Tau holding postion in Palatinate of Narn orbit - The focus of the Tau seems directed at the mines of the moon, and the retreating Tau force wastes no time in engaging the Ultramarines 3rd Company cruisers currently in blockading positions in Leo Albus orbit.
• The battle for the former Tau colony in New Oklahoma turns into another mutual slaughter - waves upon waves of Tyranid monstrosities crash upon the defensive bulwarks of the Space Marines, but with each wave, the defenders are weakened, until in a battle around the defunct Tau power station, the Ultramarines finally break, and fall back to safer positions in Glacier Edge.  The Tyranid immediately lay waste to the area, leaving only alien spore chimneys growing where once a Tau colony thrived.
