Last game of the Faraos' Cigarer League, and my last game with the 4th edition Codex.
I was playing Tyranids. The mission was Capture and Control, with Dawn of War deployment.
We both set up our objective near the same board edge - it would be close and bloody!

I won the roll-of and let my opponent start; In Objective missions I
like having the last turn, and there was little risk of overwhelming
incoming fire on turn 1! He deployed two rhinos with tactical squads in
the deep
corner, behind his objective.

I deployed my walking Tyrant and two broods of gaunts in cover near
my objective.

The rest of the Salamanders force arrive; The few potshots they take
misses due to night fighting.

3x Attack Bikes, Multimelta
5x Devastators, 4x Heavy Bolter

The rest of my force arrive, barring the Genestealers who lurk in
reserve, ready to outflank if any soft target presents themselves.
Hive Tyrant, 2x Twin Devourers,
Wings, +1S, Enhanced Senses, Warp Field, Implant attack
4x Warrior, Twin Devourer, Enhanced

Strangler, +1W, Enhanced senses
3x Zoanthrope, Warp Blast, Psychic

The Salamanders advance cautiously; Long range fire has little effect other than putting three lucky wounds on the Dakkafex and one wound on a Tyrant Guard.

The Hive Tyrant, aided by the Dakkafex, wipe out the Attack Bikes
and position itself ready to pounce on the Devastators. Venomcannon
shooting immobilizes the Land Raider, leaving its cargo of Assault
Terminators no choice but to walk if they want to get stuck in. I
completely forget to roll for reserves...
Zoanthrope shooting this game was, as always, abysmal. I scored a
grand total of one penetrating hit on the Land Raider, which merely
shook it. They did, however, manage to inflict a wound on
themselves through Perils of the Warp. Not their finest game.

Massed heavy bolter and bolter fire puts three wounds on the Flying
Dakkarant,
leaving it with only one wound left - bit of bad luck there, too.

The Dakkarant wreaks terrible vengeance on the Devastators, shooting
4 and wiping the last in close combat. My genestealers arrive
from reserve, but I don't particularly want to waste them against two
buttoned-up rhinos, so they just arrive in my own right backfield.
6x Genestealer, Feeder Tendrils,
Scuttlers

Salamander shooting finishes the two wounded Monstrous Creatures on the right flank.
Vulcan and his Terminator bodyguard finally deign to join the fracas, assaulting the Devilgaunts and wiping them all. They cautiously back away from the massed Tyranid guns now pointing at them.
Return fire is brutal, inflicting somewhere between 30 and 40 wounds (I lost count). Of course, the Heroes of the Imperium saves every single one of them! Good thing the Hive Mind is utterly emotionless, otherwise some choice swearing might have been hissed.
Meanwhile, One Carnifex and the Genestealer brood assaults the nearest dismounted Tactical squad, nearly wiping it, which is about the best result I could hope for (no return fire on the Genestealers!).
The Tyranid force facing Vulkan backed away in turn 4, leaving no good assault targets for the squad

The Genestealer follow the other tactical squad to the Salamander objective, assaulting and again nearly wiping them, and one Carnifex peels off to target a rhino making an end run for the Tyranid objective (with no effect); The remaining Tyranids form a tight circle around Vulkan and friends and opens up again. This time, three Terminators succumb to the withering hail of bioweapons, and Vulkan suffers two wounds. In the following assault, the Hive Tyrant and two carnifexes manage to kill Vulkan and one more Terminator between them, suffering three wounds in return - a pyrrhic Salamander victory for the remaining Terminator.
The game ends after turn 5.
Victory, one objective to none, with an 1110 to 680 score
